Ochs' 1969 album is easily his best and yet for some reason is was a poor seller. The overcooked arrangements of some of 'Pleasures of the Harbor' are gone and the album holds together as a stronger whole. More importantly songs like 'Another Age', & 'I Kill Therefore I Am' capture the context of 1969 excellently and others such as the title track and 'The Scorpion Departs....' are among his best songs.
